Well done to our teams from 4th & 6th class who took part in the first ever Ficheall Bunscoile Chorcaí competition in the Upper Glanmire Sports Hall this week. Our school hosted our regional competition with over 160 children playing chess in the hall on Tuesday. We had a great day and we look forward to many more fun days ahead in the competition.

Well done to our boys who had a great night at the recent Grandons Community Cup in Glanmire. The boys were a credit to the school and performed very well, just missing out on a place in the final. A big thanks to Mr. Scanlon for his coaching and to Ms. Healy and Ms. O’Halloran for their support on the night.
Well done to Bobby, Lily, Ellie, Jessie and Rebecca on their success at the All-Ireland Cross Country event in Dundalk at the weekend. We are very proud to have All-Ireland winners in our school! Well done to all involved and to their families and coaches at Carrig na bhFear AC.
On Friday, a team of ten boys took part in the INTO Mini Sevens blitz in the Pike field in Glanmire. The boys had a great time in the sunshine and returned to the school happy, recording a number of wins during the day. Thanks to Mr. Scanlon and Ms. O’Connor for their help on the day.
Well done to our 36 boys and girls who travelled to Conna on Friday to take part in the East Cork Schools Cross Country event. The children were a credit to their school, they all had a great time, and some of them even brought home medals!

A huge congratulations to our girls in Rang 6 who were part of the Glanmire and Sarsfields, football and camogie teams that won two county finals on the same day last week. Despite having to play two games a few hours apart, the girls showed great determination and we are all extremely proud of them. Well done girls!!!
Well done to Lily and Penny on their recent success at the Cross Country Championships in Ballynoe. The girls are also part of the school team who are preparing for the East Cork Schools Cross Country event in Conna on Friday.
Our Sciath na Scol campaigns are up and running this week and we started with wins for our boys and girls football teams. They have been training hard since returning to school and we look forward to the remaining matches over the coming weeks.
On Wednesday of last week we were invited to send teams from 4th, 5th & 6th classes to a Tag Rugby blitz in Old Christians. They children had a great time in the sunshine and represented the school with pride!
