Happy St Brigid’s Day and Happy Chinese New Year from 2nd Class

December 2021
We had a great month counting down to Christmas in class! The children enjoyed lots of nice Christmas activities. The children sang brilliantly for our school Christmas Carol Concert. I was so proud of them! A big thank you to the Parents Council for purchasing the Helix Christmas Panto. We really enjoyed it yesterday. Here are a few photos from the last month.
I hope you all have a very happy, safe, fun-filled Christmas. I look forward to seeing the children in 2022!

October and November 2021
October and November have been very busy in Ms Forde’s 2nd Class.
We went for a lovely walk at the start of October and took leaf and bark rubbings. We also went on a local trail around Ros Árd. We tasted honey and learnt all about bees. We carved pumpkins, created some very spooky art and dressed up in our costumes for Halloween.
November was jam packed with lots of Winter art and science experiments for Science week. We heard some lovely music from two of our class musicians. We learnt all about O’Donnell’s farm in Tipperary and tasted their lovely crisps. We created some very colourful turkeys to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Our first week of 2nd class has been very busy. Here are some photos from the week and a recording of our new song ’Rock Around the Clock’.
