Mr. Horan 22/23

Welcome to our fourth class page! Here we will keep you updated on what’s happening in our classroom throughout the year.

September Snapshot

September was a busy month in our class. In Gaeilge we learned all about Mé Féin. English we have been practicing our recount writing as well as focussing on the skill of Predicting in Building Bridges. We are also ensuring we check back over our writing to check for Capital letters and end punctuation. Maths we have covered place value, addition of big numbers, time and lines and angles. With table toppers we are getting much quicker at our multiplication tables (x2, x4, x8, x5 and x10). In SESE, geography and science, we have been looking at the planets of the solar system and the Goldilocks Zone. We also investigated on what makes rockets launch and had a blast! In History we looked at the Space Race and the Bronze Age. We have some great fun in Art making some lovely pieces of art all about ourselves and also looking at Autumn leaves as well as doing our own version of The Scream by Edvard Munch. In Music we tried out the song Bim Bum to work on our co-ordination and rhythm. We also looked at music elements like Dynamics, tempo, pitch and texture when we looked at the song the Sorcerers’ Apprentice. We worked on Co-operative games in PE and focussed on the importance of working together as a team.
