We have had a busy start to the school year. Here are some of the highlights…

Meán Fomhair – September

Bhíomar amuigh ag rith timpeall agus istigh ag scríobh… We were outside running and inside writing.

We had a very busy month. In history and Geography we were learning all about Egypt and the Ancient Egypt. In Maths we were learning about 2D shape and 3D shapes. In PE we were learning more games and also started learning GAA skills with Johnny in the sports hall. Bhíomar ag damhsa chomh maith. In music we have been learning more tunes on the tin whistle as we are part of the school band. It’s been another busy month and it flew by. Táimid an ghnóthach i seomra Rang a Trí. Táimid ag foghlaim ceol nua ar ár bhfeadóig stán. Táimid ag foghlaim faoin Chlochaois sa stair agus an téama Gaeilge don mhí ná Sa Bhaile. Tá luathchleasaíochta á dhéanamh againn i gcoirpoideachais. Giorraíonn beirt bóthar. Baineamar an taitneamh as Seachtain na hEolaíochta ag foghlaim faoi eolaithe cáiliúile agus ag déanamh turgnamh eolaíochta.

We are very busy in the third class classroom. We are learning new music on our tin whistles. We are learning about the Stone Age in history and the Irish theme for the month is At Home. We are doing athletics in PE. Time flies when you’re having fun. We really enjoyed Science Week learning about famous scientists and doing experiments.

Science, geography and art… influenced by a report from one our classmates who recently travelled to Finland and saw the Northern lights…Aurora Borealis.

Cártaí Nollaig… Christmas cards. Today the children designed, decorated and wrote special cards for the elderly in a nursing home in Mayo. Ms Hourihan is kindly delivering these special cards for us. Go Rabin míle maith agat.

Cúairt go dtí an Séipéal….A visit to the church. We went on a visit to the church to see the Advent Wreath. We prayed for all our families and for peace and good health this Christmas.
