Board of Management meeting – November 21st 2017 – Agreed Report

 

  • The Board approved the Attendance Policy and Student Teacher Placement Policy

 

  • The Board discussed the results of the parent survey on school opening times. 127 families were satisified with the opening times. 32 families were not satisfied. 45 families did not vote. The school opening times will not change.

 

  • The school has been approved to build two mainstream classrooms and an ASD classroom. The school will apply for the Per Cent for Arts scheme in relation to the upcoming building project.

 

  • Christmas performances and Carol Service to be held on Thursday 21st December.

 

  • Enrolment Mass for Confirmation on Friday 8th December.

 

  • The next Board of Management meeting is scheduled for 30th January 2017.

 

 

 

Board of Management meeting – September 26th 2017 – Agreed Report

 

  • The Board reviewed and approved the Child Protection Policy

 

  • The Board are concerned about recent Anti-Social behaviour on the school grounds and request that parents and the wider community be vigilant to assist in countering the issue.

 

  • Confirmation date is March 15th 2018. Communion date is May 26th 2018.

 

  • The school is working to offer further after school activities including Musicianship, Guitar and Health & Fitness.

 

  • A letter will be issued to parents and staff in relation to school opening hours.

 

  • The next Board of Management meeting is scheduled for 21st November 2017.

 

 

Board of Management meeting – May 3rd 2017 – Agreed Report

 

  • The school has been approved for Summer Works to upgrade toilet facilities.

 

  • The Board discussed sections 19-24 of the Board of Management Governance Manuals 2015-2019.

 

  • The Board is still awaiting a final decision on the commencement of the building project.

 

  • The Board of Management plan to survey all interested parties in the first term of the 2017/18 school year in relation to school opening hours from September 2018.

 

  • The next Board of Management meeting will take place on Thursday 1st June.

  1. The Board discussed Sections 13-18 of the Governance Manual for Schools 2015-2019.

 

  1. The Board intend to alert the Minister for Education & Skills directly to the issues pertaining to the building project.

  1. The following policies were approved by the Board:

  • Code of Behaviour – review
  • Whole School Food Plan

  1. The Board agreed that a termly meeting should take place between the Principal and the Officers of the Parent Association.

 

  1. The Board agreed that a working group should be created ahead of the Communion in May 2017.

 

  1. There is no update on the Building Project.

 

  1. The Board will apply for a Developing Schools Post for September 2017.

 

  1. The school will close on Tuesday 28th February 2017 as teachers attend in-service training on the new Language Curriculum.

 

  1. Infant Parent / Teacher meetings will take place on February 20th/21st.

 

  1. On Open Night for Parents who have applied for Junior Infants in September 2017 will be held on January 18th

Board of Management meeting – October 11th 2016

The Board of Management ratified the following policies:

  • Acceptable Usage Policy for Internet Use

The Board approved the updates of the following policies:

  • Child Protection Policy
  • Critical Incident Plan
  • Supervision Policy
  • Physical Education Plan

Building Update

The Board of Management are awaiting a response from the Department of Education and Skills Building & Planning Unit following an appeal made for the building of an additional classroom during upcoming building works.

 

School Development Fund

A School Development Fund has been created in conjunction with the Parent Association. All money raised for the fund will be used to facilitate the ongoing growth of the school. The Parent Association will be informed when funds in this account are to be sent. The amount of €1448 was raised through bag-packing recently and this will be added to the fund.

 

The next Board of Management meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 17th January 2017.

 

 

 

 

 

Board of Management meeting – June 15th 2016

The Board agreed to purchase a prefab classroom to accommodate Rang 6 for the 2016/17 school year. This is following approval from the DES for building and the request to house a temporary classroom in our General Purpose area.

The Board agreed that following a request from the Parents’ Association, the opening times of the school will be discussed in the 2016/17 school year. The Board will address the issue directly in May 2017 as previously outlined to the Parents Association.
