Hello Rang a Trí,

Hope you are all doing well today. Hard to believe it’s Wednesday already.

Another EPIC day of reading… well done… another sticker achieved 🙂

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all keeping well and all set for another day of learning. The weather has not been great but once you dress up for the weather it is good to get outside. I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s activities and videos and that some of you got an opportunity to try to make some St Brigid crosses.

READING: Well done to all who are using getEpic. I can see how much people have read. Some children have a huge number of books read already. We have free access to this site for the school term. It is a wonderful resource. It may even have books that would help you research your project. So far our class reading record is:

Lá Fhéile Bríde Daoibh go Léir – Happy Spring

Dia Daoibh go léir,

Hope you are all keeping well and had a great weekend. The first day of a new month and a new season and the feast of St Brigid. We were to return to the classroom today but disappointingly we must wait a little longer until it is safe for us all to do so. Until then, we will do our best with Online Learning.

Today I want to share a video first of all to help you with making a St Brigid’s cross…if you are lucky enough to have found rushes. I went out yesterday and found some down the road from where I live. Watch this video to see how I got on and learn a few tips along the way.

Great NEWS… Another Sticker earned for all the reading you are doing in the getEpic app.

I am delighted to see you’re enjoying finding different books and enjoying reading. It is well worth giving this app a look if you haven’t already done so. Details for login is on your activity sheet.

I hope you have a great week ahead and try to engage with as many of the activities as is possible. I am really looking forward to seeing your projects on Friday. Have a lovely day.

HERE are your ACTIVITIES for today.

Kind regards,

Ms O’Sullivan

Bonjour, ça va?

(French) Hello, how are you? 🙂

It’s Friday again. Hard to believe it’s the weekend already. Thank you and well done to you all for the great work you are doing. I love to hear how you are getting on and the see the fantastic projects you have made or the videos of activities from the cup song to Gaeilge.

For a few interesting fun facts, have a look at this page I found on the National Geographic site for children. Great to see your Geography projects progressing well. I am looking forward to next Friday when I get to see the final creation.

Monday is St Bridget’s Day and I hope to have a few ideas lined up for that all going well. Why not head out for a walk with your parents and see if you can spot rushes in fields (wet ground usually) and have a go at making a St Bridget’s Cross.

I have been learning a few more IT skills and I have set up a new page where I hope to post videos and photos of the talents of Rang a Trí. There is a link in the table at the top of the page which I will leave there for quick access. CLICK HERE now for a look 🙂

Here are you activities for today. CLICK HERE

Have a great weekend.

Take care,

Guten Tag,

Wie gehts? 🙂

I wonder where in the world will I get to see through all the super projects that are being created?? That was some German there for anyone who is working on Germany. A nice idea to learn HELLO and GOODBYE in the language of the country you are working on.

Today’s theme for your home activities is Mindfulness. The theme for today’s Catholic School’s week activities is Resilience. Two important things that we all need to have in our lives these days. I hope you all have a good day and try out some of the different activities I have put together for today.

Great to see so many trying out get Epic. The class got it’s first badge for all the books that have ben read so far

ART PROJECTS…Ms O’Sullivan has learned how to make a video on POWERPOINT(big news 😀 )…View the latest additions to yesterday’s ART EXHIBITION HERE 🙂

Catholic Schools Week – Grandparents’ Day

Hi Everyone,

hope you are all keeping well and all set for another day. Hard to believe it’s Wednesday again. The time is flying by.

Thanks to everyone for engaging so well and sending all the photos of your work and crafts. It is great to see.

For any of you trying to think of something different to do, why not try some photography. Photos are a great way of recording things and can be like a visual diary. Some ideas are

– Colour Walk – Go for a walk around the house or outside and look for things of a certain colour and photograph them.
– Starts with… – Find objects that start with a certain letter and photograph them.
– Their name – Find objects that start with the letters in your name or look for things that look like letters to make their name.

Photography is a great skill to have, it just takes practise.

ART EXHIBITION – Since we are not in school and it would have been lovely to have had a display of all the shoebox bedrooms and bird feeders, I have put together a slide show of some photos of your work. Well done everyone – Art Projects Rang a Trí

Here are your activities for today: CLICK HERE

Have a lovely day.

Kind regards,

Ms O’Sullivan

Poster by Jamie

Dia daoibh,

Conas atá sibh go léar?

Hope you are all doing well on this Tuesday morning. For anyone who made the bird feeder, I hope it is hanging outside in your garden and helping all the little birds during these cold mornings. Today you may notice an image of a poster. It was such a fantastic creation I had to share it with you. Created by Jamie as a poster for Day 1 of Catholic Schools Week. Well done Jamie. Over the coming days, I hope to share some photos and work of children in the class on this page. You are a talented class and I am learning about more and more of your talents every day. It’s fantastic to see.

Great to see children are availing of the online reading material on getEpic. It is good to have access to books when libraries are not open at this time. On today’s activities sheet, there is a link to the Mini Project. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well today and got on OK yesterday as a start to our stint of ‘learning from a distance’. It’s not just you are learning every day, I’m learning lots of new IT skills to help me come up with different ways to teach subjects and to get to correct your work. Hopefully we will get into the swing of it in a few days.

Thank you to all who sent in copies of the work they completed and also for the dance videos. It brought a smile to my face to see familiar faces. I hope to hear from more of you today. It was lovely to read about the ways you spent Christmas too.

Like school, do some activities, take some breaks…movement breaks especially.

Below is a list of today’s activities. Keep up the learning homework and revising tables we have covered to date.

I would like you to keep an eye out for any birds that land in your garden. See can you identify the bird from the poster. Count how many different types of birds you see. If you have a bird feeder in your garden you will have a bit of an advantage 😊

ART

Get thinking about construction…making things. Using recycled materials…

Over the course of the next 4 weeks we will plan, design and create one of the following two items…

1.       A shoebox bedroom/room

OR

2.       Birdfeeder

At the moment, just think about which one would appeal to you most to create.

NO NEED TO MAKE ANYTHING YET… JUST GET THE THINKING CAPS ON 😉

Religion

So as to continue the development of your child’s faith during this time at home, the following guide may be helpful. CLICK HERE… If the time allows, one column per week during January.

If this isn’t an option, why not day a prayer at your sacred space (you may have set up yesterday) and remember those who are no longer with us since the past ten months. Remember those families who have lost a loved one too. It would be lovely to remember all those healthcare workers who care for the sick in our hospitals.

11th January 2021

Hi everyone and welcome to our learning and activities page for Rang a Trí.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and are all healthy and well. You must have lots of great stories about things that happened during your break from school. It is very disappointing that we are not back in the classroom but we will do our best to learn as much as we can, as best we can over the next few weeks and hopefully we will be back to normal life in the classroom very soon. For now, just try your best to work independently. If you need help ask your parents for it and if they are unsure about anything, I will be contactable via email from 9.30-3.00pm every day from Monday until Friday.

We will try and keep to familiar work and activities that we had been doing up until now. Please start using two new blank copybooks – one for Maths and one for everything else (one lined copy and one square copy) to keep all the activities you complete at home together in one place. Use a read biro for margins, numbering, dating and putting titles on your work.

If you get one set up I would love to see a photo please 🙂

SPHE – For January we will focus on being healthier in mind and body. Today we will look at nutrition. Why not make a list for this week of all the fruit you eat per week. Then next week we will focus on adding one piece of fruit or vegetables. We will do movement activities each day for exercise. Don’t forget, as the days are getting longer to be sure and get outdoors for fresh air each day…even if it is raining. You will feel much better to have got out and about.

All the best and I am looking forward to seeing your work whether it is scanned or videos.
