Music:
Today we will revise a song that we learned during the first term ‘Down by the Bay’. We had a great time coming up with extra verses. See can you come up with a new verse and sing it at home.

I love to march to music. Click on the link below and march to the song at home. Pretend you are the conductor of the musicians. Be as dramatic as you can and use your ruler as a baton!!!!

P.E.
Today or sometime this week try out this session by Rebel Og Coaching. You could do it as part of your lunchtime break. Maybe you could ask your friends how they got on with it on the phone!

January 11th 2021
Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you all had a very enjoyable holiday and although it is with great disappointment that we are not returning to school as we know it, I hope for a better 2021 for everyone.
Below are activities for the children to do today Monday 11th of January. The children should be used to doing most of these activities at school during our normal school day and routine. Throughout the week there may be a video to support a particular activity.
If there are activities where the children will be using their copies please encourage them to rule the page and write a title and date on the top of the page as they do in school.
I have also sent home a maths pack with a few items to help them with some maths activities and it would be great if you could look after these as best you can until they children return.
I understand the next few weeks will be challenging so please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of help at e.oshea@upperglanmirens.ie or if you would like your child’s work to be corrected.
Ms. Duggan will also be working with me during this time and can be contacted at a.duggan@upperglanmirens.ie.
I would also like to wish a happy birthday to Sarah and Seán as they celebrated their birthdays over the holidays. I hope you both enjoyed your special day!
Take care and stay safe.
Kind Regards,
Ms. O’Shea.

SESE:
Read about these funny New Year Traditions from around the world.

Draw a picture of your favourite tradition in your SESE copy.
Underneath it write some resolutions or plans that you have for the New Year – these could be things that you will take on or things that you might give up.
This year mine are:
- I will try to go for a walk each day.
- I will not eat chocolate during the week.
- I will try to learn how to play chess.
- I will try to learn how to bake something new.
These might give you some ideas if you want to create something bigger in your copy:

Christmas 2020:
Happy Christmas to all and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas holiday! Here’s what we’ve been up to in our class this Christmas. We’ve had great fun and enjoyed the run up to Christmas. The children worked very hard at their play and showed some great acting skills! We hope you enjoyed it at home.

Parents,
Just a quick note to thank you all for your support and hard work in getting the children back to school. It’s been fantastic to be back in school and to see the children enjoying being back with their friends and learning together.
Here is a little look at what we got up to over the past few weeks and a few Halloween activities that we got involved in over past couple of days.
I hope you all enjoy the midterm!
Happy Halloween!
Ms. O’Shea.

We created our own obstacle courses!
