Haike Gaelach
We did a lot of songs and poems in Irish during the year. The Haike Gaelach was one of our favourites. Click on the link to see a video of our class performing the chant.
Flat Stanley visits us from New Jersey
Rang a Dó had the pleasure of meeting ‘Flat Stanley’ who had been sent to us by a little girl called Sophia in New Jersey. Sophia’s class had been reading the book about Flat Stanley and wanted to send him on a journey. So we were contacted and an envelope arrived with Flat Stanley inside.
He joined us in class activities such as Irish, Maths and English. He also joined us for P.E. He had a great time.
Ms O’Connor brought Flat Stanley on a visit to a farm too. Have a look at the photos below to see what he got up to.
Grandparents’ Day 27th February 2015
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the grandparents who could make this special celebration.
We attended mass at 11.15am celebrated by Fr. Heinhold. We sang songs during the mass too. After mass we returned to our classrooms while the grandparents were treated to tea and cakes provided by the fantastic Patents’ Association. After their tea, the grandparents came to visit our classrooms. We really enjoyed getting to meet them all.
Have a look at photos from our celebration. ..

2nd December 2014
Out and about in Upper Glanmire 🙂
Today, 2nd December, Rang a Dó went on a winter walk because it was such a nice day. We saw and learned a lot.
We learned that there poly tunnels down the road and also hens and geese.
We saw Glenmill engineering, lots of lovely fields and a water tower in the distance.
We walked around Ros Árd and saw lots of house with Christmas decorations. We walked along on the “stony path”.
We loved our walk and finished up with a jog around the yard and cooling down exercise. We got good exercise and fresh air.
