School in the past

We were so lucky to have Rowan and Lily’s Daddy visit our classroom last week to talk to us all about what school was like when he was young. He came to Scoil Naomh Micheál too but when he started off in Junior Infants he went to the building where ‘Sandcastles’ is now. We loved listening to all the work he used to do when he was in school, his favourite subjects and all his teachers. We were shocked when we heard there were 44 children in his class and only one toy….an abacus!! And no Aistear time!!

After, we talked about what was the same and what had changed since he went to our school and we drew and wrote about what we had learnt in our SESE copies. Thank you Rowan and Lily’s Daddy, we really enjoyed your visit and learnt lots!
