Green-Schools Update

Next week (April 4th-April 8th), it is Green-Schools Biodiversity Action Week here at Scoil Naomh Micheál. During the week all classes will learn about Biodiversity and our Green-Schools Committee will show classes around our biodiversity patch. On Friday, all children may dress up in a biodiversity theme or wear green if they wish. We will do a group walk to school that morning, meeting at Ros Ard at 9:10.

Our application form for our sixth green flag (previous flags were awarded for our work on the themes of Litter & Waste, Energy, Water, Travel and Global Citizenship) has been submitted and we look forward to hearing good news soon.

Below are photos of our biodiversity poster competition winners being presented with their prizes by members of the Green-Schools Committee. All of the entries were bright and beautiful and really illustrated our school biodiversity motto: ‘Bugs, bees and habitats galore, biodiversity is at our school’s front door’.
