Facilities, Resources and Recent Developments

The Board of Management and staff of Scoil Naisiunta Naomh Micheal constantly endeavour to provide the very best in terms of school environment, facilities, materials and resources. In recent years the following has been achieved:

• All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards;
• Sink units have been replaced in all classrooms;
• Carpets have been replaced in all classrooms;
• The senior playground has been extended;
• Parking has been provided for school staff thus freeing up the area in front of the school for set-down and collection of pupils;
• The junior playground has been resurfaced;
• A sewage treatment plant has been in operation for a number of years;
• All aspects of our power supply (including lighting) have been modernised and updated providing safer, more cost efficient electricity;
• Cavity walls and roofs have been insulated;
• The new Community Hall is a truly magnificent development and is a credit to the dedication, tenacity and sheer hard work of Upper Glanmire Community Association. We look forward to making full use of the hall in the years ahead;
• The school Community is indebted to the excellent work of The Parents Association and to their tremendous support over the years. They have contributed much to the school including computers, digital cameras, musical instruments, books and other resources for all classes and groups. They have also subsidised a range of activities including Speech and Drama, dance, transport to different activities, prizes etc. Our new building is now completed and is occupied by Fifth & Sixth classes. It is a great addition to the school. We are all delighted with the work of Mr. Vincy Barry contractor who did a truly magnificent job. We now have a number of projects in mind.  The school’s heating system has been upgraded and replaced during the Summer Holidays leading to warmer winters and financial saving with a more efficient system in place. The school floors are to be replaced over the mid term break.
