Hi everyone,

Have a great short week everyone!
Ms. O’Shea.

A big thank you for all your efforts with the children last week in encouraging them to read at home, it sounded like the children were really getting into it and enjoyed telling me what they were reading and how many pages they read. We will continue to do the same this week as well as the reading assigned below.
Have a lovey week and thanks again for the support with homework.

There is no need to return this, you can correct your child’s work or send a picture of it to me in an email if you would like me to correct it. We will be doing lots of work on this in school daily but it would be good for the children to go over it at home also.

Monday April 12th
Welcome back to all the children today. I hope you enjoyed the Easter holidays! We are heading into our final term and I’m really looking forward to better weather and hopefully more outdoor activities. We had fun planting some potatoes before Easter and hope to plant lots more things in the next week or two. Pictures to come! This week I will put up Communion responses for the children to go over at home until we get confirmation of any dates. We have been doing these in school too.
The homework for the week is below which I will go through. On Thursday I will put a link to the EPIC App for further reading.
Have a great week everyone.

Please try three per night up to number 12. We are learning how to take away with regrouping. The children are learning rhymes to help them. More on the top, no need to stop. More on the floor, go next door and get some more.

Monday 22nd March
Good morning everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely few days off and had fun trying to trap some leprechauns! There are some more traps below for you all to see but I haven’t heard of one being caught yet!
Please see the homework for the week below. Please read the English and Irish reading each night, learn four tables, four English spellings and two Irish spellings each night. It would be great if you could do three addition sums per night and a few of the tables activities from below each night. I have also assigned a book on the epic app for this week. The children could read five or six pages per night. https://www.getepic.com/ Class code: qyg6640
This week we hope to get to the community garden weather permitting, to lay our ladybird houses and to plant some potatoes, tomatoes, sunflowers, carrots and a few more bits and pieces. If any children have garden gloves they could bring in in a zip lock bag with their name on it and leave in school, it would be great for the next couple of weeks so that we could head up and do a bit of planting and weeding every now and then.
Thank you for your support and have a lovely week.
E. O’Shea.
