It is the last day of what has been another busy and successful term in Scoil Naomh Micheál. It is both a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of our school community, and this is highlighted especially around this time of the year. The excitement and enthusiasm of the children in the build up to Christmas, has a positive influence on us all.
I would like to thank all parents for their continued support throughout the term. In particular, I would like to thank the Parent Association who have completed a number of rewarding projects since September and have been closely involved in policy reviews and management decisions. The re-opening of our school library has been a huge addition to our school and this would not have been possible without the support of parents. You will see below just how active and supportive the Parents Association have been.
Our community is centred around the school, St. Michael’s Church, White’s Cross GAA Club and Upper Glanmire Community Association. As a Catholic school, we are fortunate to have access to St. Michael’s Church on our doorstep. I would like to thank the GAA club and the Community Association for their continued support of our school and for the use of their facilities. In addition, the coaching provided by White’s Cross GAA Club is greatly appreciated and we look forward to working closely with both organisations in 2019.
A big thank you to the girls and boys of Scoil Naomh Micheál. Their enthusiasm, happiness and respectful natures make our jobs such a pleasure every day. All we can ever ask of the children is to ‘try their best’, and our children certainly do this daily.
Finally, a big thank you to the staff of Scoil Naomh Micheál. I always feel fortunate to lead such a great school community and a wonderful team of teachers, SNAs and ancillary staff. Every year, they go above and beyond to benefit the children in our school and I am truly grateful for their dedication and commitment.
Below you will find a sample of the events that have taken place in our school since September. You will see that Scoil Naomh Micheál is quite a busy place. We encourage you to keep up to date with the news and events on our website, http://www.upperglanmirens.ie, and on our Facebook page.
I would like to wish you and your family, a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas. We look forward to seeing you all in 2019 for what is sure to be another successful year in Scoil Naomh Micheál. Enjoy the break!
