Christmas Letter Home – 20th Dec 2019

Dear Parents,

I write to thank you for your support of the children and staff of our school as the Christmas Holidays are upon us. It has been a busy term in Scoil Naomh Micheál and the success of the school would not be possible without your input and support. A huge thank you also to our Parents Association for their continued support of our school. It is a pleasure to work in partnership with a great group of parents.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful team on staff in Scoil Naomh Micheál, and I wish to share my thanks and gratitude for the efforts they go to every day to ensure that our school is the best learning environment possible for your children. Their dedication and the care they show for your children is a testament to who they are as both professionals and people. I’m sure you will agree that the Christmas performances this week in the school were a great example of this dedication and care.

We are also fortunate to be part of a great community in Upper Glanmire and we are grateful for the support of the Upper Glanmire Community Association. This support goes far beyond the continued use of the Community Hall. The committee members have always shown a great interest in our school and we look forward to the continued community involvement.

We also thank White’s Cross GAA Club for the continued support they show us in the school. Finbarr Kiely coaches our children weekly, thanks to the club, and we are always welcomed to use the facilities in White’s Cross.
A big thank you also to Fr. Pat Nugent and Fr. John Newman for their continued support of our school. Fr. Pat is a familiar face in the school, especially with the Rang 2 and Rang 6 children. We look forward to working closely with Fr. Pat after Christmas as preparations begin for Confirmation and Communion.

Finally, I wish to thank the children of Scoil Naomh Micheál. We have a wonderful group of children in our school, who are a real credit to all their families. We are privileged to be a part of their lives and to see them grow as they progress through the school. The children of our school are the inspiration for all the hard work and positive relationships mentioned above. I thank them for bringing fun and enthusiasm to our lives daily.

Below you will see a brief snapshot of the events that have taken place in the school year to date. The best place to keep up to date with the news in our school is at, or you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

I would like to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas. We look forward to seeing you and your children on Monday 6th January for another exciting year in Scoil Naomh Micheál.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Patrick O’Connell
