Junior and Senior Infants recently researched the old school in Upper Glanmire. We were interested to learn that the current community centre, where many of our children attended playschool, was the site of the old school. Our school at its current location was opened in 1987. Many of the children knew parents or grandparents that had attended the old school. We were delighted to welcome our friend, Margaret O’Mahony, back to Scoil Naomh Micheál. She is a past pupil of the old school and also taught here until her retirement last year. She answered all the children’s questions about the differneces between school life then and now and afterwards we all went for a walk up to the old school. We spotted the two doors, which we learned were separate doors for the boys and the girls! Mrs. O’Mahony thought that the children asked interesting and thoughtful questions and she enjoyed seeing everyone again.

As part of our History lesson, here in Senior Infants, we explored the theme of growing up. Here are some of our photographs.IMG_5248 IMG_5228 IMG_5229 IMG_5232 IMG_5236 IMG_5242 IMG_5243 IMG_5244 IMG_5245 IMG_5247
