Music and singing have always been central to the work of our school. All pupils from Third to Sixth Class are taught recorder or tin whistle. Concerts are arranged for different classes at Christmas and/or Easter.
We are always on the lookout for special projects for our pupils. One such scheme was “The Crossing” with The Cross Border Orchestra in 2009 featuring our Sixth Class and various classes from several schools in the Cork city and county.
We are very proud also of our involvement in two Masses that were broadcast on RTE Radio in September 2010 to mark the bicentenary of St. Michael’s Church, Upper Glanmire. Mass was broadcast on RTE Radio on Sunday, September 21st and Sunday, September 28th. The music was provided by Scoil Naomh Mícheal.
