Thatching presentation

We have been watching the new thatch roof going on the Boothouse across the road from the school. Richard and Jacob, the thatchers, called to us this morning to tell us about the history of thatching and to show us how to thatch a roof.

It was great to see this unique skill and we learned a lot from them! Thanks to Brian in the Boothouse for organising the visit for us. We have lots of pictures to see in our Gallery.

Proclamation Day

Today we celebrated Proclamation Day in our school. It was a unique day and one we will all remember.

At 12pm we gathered with our visitors outside the school, Orla read the Proclamation and Conor raised our new flag we received from the Defence Forces.

We then moved to the hall where 5th & 6th class performed The Foggy Dew and Óró sé do bheatha bhaile, along with Irish dancers and the reading of Proclamations for a New Generation.

You can find lots of pictures of the day in our Gallery or by clicking the link below.

6th class Confirmation Music

Dear Parents and children of 6th class,

please find an audio file in my page that has the lyrics of the songs for this year’s Confirmation ceremony. It will stand to us all if the children listen to the file over the Easter break. Once a day would solidify the songs and running order. The children sound amazing. Thanks to Ms Murphy, Ms Roche, Ms Healy and Joan for all their great work over the last month or so.

Thanks a million,

Mr O’Sullivan.
